Pool season typically runs Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend
Hello Neighbors,
Pool season is here! The pool is open 12pm (Noon) - 8pm on Saturdays and Sundays unless otherwise noted. The pool will be open daily 12pm (Noon) - 8pm once school is out.
As we have done in previous years, parties are permitted at the pool with 2-weeks advance notice to the Pool Coordinator so that an additional guard can be secured. Please read the pool rules below carefully for more details.
Please remember that only Colonial Acres Homeowners Association members (i.e. full dues-paying members) may use the the pool and its common area. If you have not paid your dues, please contact our treasurer Maria Catalano (maria.catalano19@gmail.com) or our president Justine Aloise-Patka (jmaloise@gmail.com) to make arrangements.
The pool and its common areas are a reflection of our community. It takes all of our efforts and pride to maintain it. We hope that the area can be a place for everyone to enjoy over the summer. If you have any questions or want to know how you can help, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Pool Committee Chair, Dave Szalda (dszalda51@gmail.com) or Justine .
Colonial Acres Pool Rules
Dues-paying members of Colonial Acres are welcome to use the pool during operating hours. This includes children and grandchildren of members in good standing (I.e., dues paying members).
Hours may be subject to change; standard hours are 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm each day.
All members and their guests are required to sign the guest book at the entrance, upon entering the pool grounds.
The pool can not be used without a lifeguard present. The lifeguard on duty has full authority and responsibility for the safe operation of the pool and its facilities.
The lifeguard is empowered to request any patron to cease any activity the lifeguard feels is inappropriate or unsafe. The lifeguard will give one warning. If the behavior does not stop, the patron will be asked to leave for the remainder of the day.
Lifeguards are not babysitters. Parents and guardians must actively supervise their children on pool grounds.
No elementary school aged children or younger are allowed in the pool grounds without a parent or guardian. The guardian must be a rising 9th grader or older and actively supervising the child.
All children who wish to swim in the deep end without a parent or guardian present (actively watching and standing near or in the deep end) must take and pass an annual swim test.
Rising 6th graders who pass the swim test may use the pool unaccompanied by a parent or guardian. The Pool Chair has the discretion to revoke the rights of a child to swim at the pool independently without a parent or guardian present for the remainder of the season if the child is not in compliance with pool rules.
Children who are not toilet trained are required to use a swim diaper.
No pushing other swimmers into the pool. No rough-housing on the pool deck.
No running on the pool deck. No bikes or skateboards on the pool deck.
Diving in the deep end only. Only one person on the diving board at a time.
No flips when jumping into the pool.
No glass inside the pool grounds.
No pets inside the pool grounds.
When the lifeguard hears thunder, everyone must exit the pool. The lifeguard must wait 30 minutes after the last clap of thunder before allowing anyone back into the pool.
The lifeguards may call Adult Swim every two hours for 15 minutes. In addition, lifeguards can clear the pool as needed.
Members should refer to the published Guest Pass policy if they surpass the ten complimentary guest passes in one season.
*Please remember that we are all responsible for keeping our pool a safe and pleasant
place for ALL members of our community to enjoy. Thank you.
