Colonial-Glenmont, Inc. (the Colonial Acres Homeowners' Association) was formed soon after the neighborhood was founded. Its Board of Directors is comprised of Acres residents who are elected annually by the association members at its annual meeting. The board and its various committees and functions are staffed by volunteers.
The homeowners' association is a multifaceted service organization whose purpose is to insure effective representation in the governmental, environmental, cultural and economic affairs of our community. It also provides the management of the pool and community property.
Activities for the benefit of all, for which all of us must personally bear responsibility, and for which we must be willing to volunteer include:
-the establishment of liaison with the town board and governmental agencies in the interest of Colonial Acres;
-implementation of proper planning and planting of the park areas within the development including the power company right of way;
-maintenance of community property, such as the colonial style mail box huts and street signs;
-sponsorship of work parties, whereby every family becomes a contributor;
-provision for social programs;
-establishment of communication among all families for important topics and free discussion of individual property rights and needs;
-support for the recreational facilities of the community.
For further information about other activities and membership fees, please contact one of the association officers.
